Slim Pickings, but I’ll be adding last week’s run to this one.

<DC>
ADVENTURE COMICS STARRING BLACK LANTERN SUPERBOY #7
SECRET SIX #18

<Marvel>
STRANGE # 4

<DC>
BATMAN: LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT SPECIAL
RED ROBIN #9

<Marvel>
*facepalm* forgot to reserve
DEADPOOL TEAM-UP # 896
ULTIMATE COMICS X # 1

Ugh, it takes SIX issues for it to get interesting.
Oh the stupidity.

For something that was supposedly all about Action, this was fucking slow.
Irritating, how the shit hits the fan JUST BEFORE it ends.

Cover: AMAZING
Interior art: WOW
Story: ABOUT FUCKING TIME SHIT HIT THE FAN

Recommendation: Go for the art. That’s it so far. The TPB? I dunno so far.

<DC>
DETECTIVE COMICS #861
GREEN LANTERN #50
JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRY FOR JUSTICE #6 (OF 7)
WORLD’S FINEST #4 (OF 4)

Didn’t have the chance to reserve as I didn’t know these were coming and I couldn’t open the fricking email attachment…
CATWOMAN #83
SUICIDE SQUAD #67

<Marvel>
SECRET WARRIORS # 12

This was enjoyable.

I always liked the Phantom Stranger. Sure, he was a bit Deus Ex Machina for me but what the hey, the idea behind him ROCKED. I liked the thought of an eternal wanderer who could only lead people down the right path, never able to take the path himself no matter his abilities.

Cryptic as always, the Stranger helps Deadman(Boston Brand) and gets his body into Nanda Parbat. All he says about the body is that it’s important.

Simple story.

Cover: BEEE-AUTIFUL
Art: Wow-ness
Story: Cryptic

Recommendation: Not for everyone

<DC>
GREEN LANTERN CORPS #44
JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA SPECIAL
THE PHANTOM STRANGER #42
SUPERMAN/BATMAN #68

Didn’t reserve
BLACKEST NIGHT: THE FLASH #2 (OF 3) – Will wait for the TPB
STARMAN #81 – still on the fence

<Marvel>
AVENGERS VS. ATLAS # 1 – I am an AoA pimp
SPIDER-MAN 1602 # 4 – oy vey I need to get #3

Admittedly, I’m a Cyclops fanboy so this will be short.

The two most compelling Origins stories have been Iceman’s and THIS ONE. No, I am not letting my fanboyism get the better of me.

What made these two stories work is the fact that both stories show WHY those two ended up the way the are now.

This story shows the immense responsibility Cyclops had to carry very early on. Shows how much he had to endure from the very beginning, the challenges he had to face.

There’s a reason why Cyclops was ranked #1 among all the X-men, higher than even Prof. X. It’s summed up in the last two lines of the comic, “I’ll lead the X-men. I’ll lead them all.”

Cover: CLASSIC
Interior art: Respectable
Story: Fanboy full-auto

Recommendation: Read if you’re a fan.

Pretty good balance. 3 of Each. Proud of myself

<DC>
ADVENTURE COMICS #6
BATMAN #695
SECRET SIX #17

Didn’t reserve but will likely buy…
CATWOMAN #83

<Marvel>
STRANGE # 3
THE MARVELS PROJECT # 5
X-MEN ORIGINS: CYCLOPS # 1

Dumbass forgot to reserve but will likely buy…
BLACK WIDOW: DEADLY ORIGIN # 3
DARK X-MEN # 3
PSYLOCKE # 3

And since I have  a 15% discount on my birthday I’ll prolly buy the Black Casebook TPB too.

Oh-kay, people who think this series is serious raise their hand?

Anyone? Nope? DIDN’T THINK SO.

I buy this series for the LOLZ. This issue was pretty funny but still not as funny as the Zapata bros(and I mean bros) one.
Seriously, Deadpool was a fave BEFORE he blew up and this is just the best.

Cover: GREAT
Story: WHO CARES?!!
Interior Art: NIIIIICE

Best scene/frame/page: Demon trying to possess Deadpool? BAD IDEA.

How much did I enjoy this issue, too much.

Guy becoming a Red Lantern with him making short work of ANYTHING in his path, Soranik’s love saving Kyle and his ring coming back. GREAT moments.

After the boredom of the whole Daxam arc, I’m falling in love with GLC again.

I guess the relationships that I see holding the corps together are once again being placed at the fore of the comic and that’s what’s making me so happy.
